Why You Should Reach for A Cup of Low-Acid Coffee

Why You Should Reach for A Cup of Low-Acid Coffee

It’s never been a better time to be a coffee drinker because there are so many different amazing types and flavors of beans to try!  Whether you’re looking for a better way to keep yourself energized throughout the day, or just want to expand your own knowledge of coffee varieties, there’s plenty of variety.

One variety we think should get more attention is low-acid coffee.  Besides having a milder taste, low-acid coffee actually has a lot of benefits over standard brews.  In fact, it can even make coffee available to people who have trouble drinking other types!

Three Reasons to Try A Cup of Low-Acid Coffee

  1. Start your day in a less-bitter way

The acidity in coffee is what determines how bitter the coffee is.  Now, if you love a strong black cup of Arabian beans, more power to you.  However, not everyone enjoys that level of acidity – especially not first thing in the morning.  Low-acid coffees are perfect for morning coffees that perk you up, without leaving you feeling sour.

  1. Reduce damage to your teeth

It’s an unfortunate fact of life that coffee will tend to stain your teeth, and high-acid variations can potentially even eat away at tooth enamel.  Low-acid coffee helps prevent this!  Since there is less acid in the coffee, it does less harm to the enamel and reduces the amount of staining.

  1. Have stomach issues?  This is the coffee for you!

There are a lot of stomach and digestive problems a person might have which can prevent them from being able to enjoy coffee.  For example:

  • GERD / Acid reflux
  • Celiac’s Disease
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Chronic constipation
  • Chronic stomach ulcers

If a person suffers from any of these diseases, or any other conditions that involve their stomach being sensitive, there is a good chance their doctor will tell them to avoid coffee.  Well, low-acid coffee gets around this!  Without acid in the coffee, it won’t irritate your stomach in the same way traditional roasts will.

That makes it the perfect choice for anyone with a stomach or digestive issue.
